Job Title: Green Machine-Volunteers
Description
Are you or do you know anyone 16-25 years old? Live in Manchester? Looking for something fun and rewarding to do this Summer? Try volunteering with the Green Machine Project. We’ve got a great range of fun and active things to try, all helping to make Manchester a better and more colourful place!
We have three projects you can get stuck into in different parts of Manchester, over the first three weeks in August – do as much or as little as you like. We can pay your travel expenses, provide all food and refreshments, tools and equipment – all you need is enthusiasm and some clothes you don’t mind getting a bit grubby. You can make your own way to the projects, or travel with Green Machine staff from the centre of Manchester each day – it couldn’t be easier!
Week 1 - Tuesday 3rd, Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th August, 1pm to 5pm. Craft a clay oven!
Working at the Green Machine allotment in Harpurhey, volunteer with us to build an oven out of the earth, get crafty to make our plot more colourful, and help us grow good stuff to eat – no experience necessary, just willingness to get stuck in.
Week 2 - Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th August, 1pm to 5pm. Eco arts park projects!
Volunteer with us at Platt Fields Park in Rusholme, help design and make a new herb garden, weave a willow hedge, do a wildlife survey, make a bug hotel. All tools and training provided free.
Week 3 - Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th, Friday 20th August, 1pm to 5pm. Woodland wonderland!
Three amazing days in an incredible hidden woodland in South Manchester, help us make new pathways, build log stores, plant trees, learn woodland crafts and skills, then cook over an open fire at the end of each day! No previous experience needed.
