Monday 10 November 2008, 12:00–14:00.
The University of Salford is conducting research into the relationship between the sound of the urban environment and the way in which it is perceived by people living and working within it. We are especially interested in understanding how hard of hearing adults experience sound in the urban environment. The inclusion of hearing impaired individuals for a project investigating the experience of sound is valuable, necessary and important.
Therefore, we will be holding focus groups with a range of participants as we wish to compare perceptions of hearing people with those with mild to moderate hearing impairment.
We are organising a focus group at the University of Salford with hard of hearing individuals who use assistive listening devises such as hearing aids or cochlear implants. We are looking to recruit people who can fully participate in a focus group with the aid of their listening device. Due to this it is important individuals are able to communicate without BSL as no BSL moderator will be available for the focus group.
Lunch will be provided.
All participants received a £10 high street voucher.
The University of Salford will reimburse all reasonable expenses for attending the meeting (i.e. car parking costs, public transportation tickets).
If you are interested in attending the focus group, please contact Melissa Marselle via email at m.marselle@salford.ac.uk or 0161 295 2690.
