Discover who Charles Darwin was and the impact of his work in this new exhibition: Charles Darwin: Evolution of a Scientist. Through huge graphic-novel style illustrations, discover key moments from Darwin's early childhood and life as a student, his legendary voyage on the Beagle and the publication of his ideas in On the Origin of Species.

Get up close to objects Darwin used and collected, including the sextant he navigated with and carried in his pocket during his voyage around the world. Read some of the letters he wrote about insect-eating plants. Find out how Darwin's ideas about evolution are still relevant to us today.

Don't miss the programme of special events related to the exhibition, with lively talks and activities for all the family. Highlights include a poetry reading from Darwin's great-great-grand-daughter, Ruth Padel, and a comedy performance based on Darwin's voyage around the world. Throughout the half-term holidays, come and create a masterpiece inspired by nature, meet scientists and celebrate the International Year of Astronomy by meeting a real space engineer.
