The service is available all year round and Cranfield now have capacity to take on more projects in North West England.
They can help in many ways. Perhaps your business plan
needs updating or you are considering a new trading opportunity and would like some help in planning it. You may be thinking of taking a fresh look at your marketing plan or have staffing issues (e.g. reviewing salary scales, reporting structure, team building). Indeed, many charities are currently asking for help from in preparing for tenders and contract working.
Each project is individually tailored to meet the particular needs of the organisation the volunteer is working with. The Trust’s North West Project Manager, Lara Strickland, based in Macclesfield, visits each organisation to develop a project brief which is then used to identify a volunteer with appropriate skills, located close to the client.
The Cranfield Trust’s volunteers are highly skilled and qualified managers from the commercial sector, who bring different skills and an external viewpoint to complement the organisation's own expertise. Based in the North West, they provide consultancy support on a friendly one to one basis. Typically, time input from volunteers is between three and six days over the course of a three or four month project.
Cranfield's remit is to work with registered charities and not for profit organisations involved in addressing issues of poverty, disability and social exclusion and we do have to interpret this criterion quite carefully.
If you are interested in working with one of their volunteers on a free consultancy project, or would like to discuss possible projects, please contact Iain Ferguson, Project Co-ordinator on 01794 830338 or e-mail:- iain.ferguson@cranfieldtrust.org
