It will do this by:
* Providing networking opportunities for young people's agencies.
* Providing a collective, stronger voice for the voluntary youth sector in consultations.
* Facilitating the sharing of resources.
* Promoting partnership and inter-agency, cross-sector working.

Getting involved!
There are a number of ways in which you can become more involved in the work of VYM:

Joining the Steering Group
The steering group meet on the first Thursday of every month, usually from 2pm to 4pm. People who work within the voluntary youth sector in Manchester as an employee, committee member, volunteer or young person are welcome to attend.

The purpose and work of the Steering Group:
The Steering Group provides an opportunity to guide the development of VYM as an organisation and set its priority areas of work.

Join the Board of trustees
Voluntary Youth Manchester is currently looking for more board members. As a registered charity we require a board of trustees who have ultimate legal responsibility for the organisation, and who oversee issues around employment, personnel and funding. The board works closely with the wider steering group of representatives from the voluntary youth sector, who are able to inform the direction of the work of VYM.
Board members must have a strong interest in and commitment to the voluntary youth sector.
